Talk it through

Prices in USD, excluding sales tax where it applies. No setup fee and no minimum term — 30 days' notice and the monthly stops.

Why it works this way

The build fee gets you live. The monthly keeps you there.

Splitting it does three useful things, and we would rather say them out loud than leave you wondering where the catch is.

You are not writing a $5,000 cheque

Eight hundred dollars is a number a small business can decide on this week, rather than one that sits in a drawer for a year. You get the site now and spread the rest as it starts earning.

The site does not rot

A website is not a painting, it is a machine. Left alone for two years it gets slow, insecure and out of date. The monthly is what stops that, and it includes real change work every month — not just a server bill.

We stay on the hook

Because we are still paid next month, it is our problem if the site stops working for you. That is the honest reason this arrangement is better for you than a big one-off fee.

The comparison

What you would otherwise pay

The same three-year window, three ways of getting a website. Outside figures are typical market rates, not quotes.

Route What you get Up front Over 3 years
Do it yourself on a builder A template, your evenings, and no help $0 ~$900
Agency, one-off fee A custom site, then you are alone with it $5,000+ $5,000+
LR Forge Anvil Custom site, hosted, maintained and edited every month $1,200 $7,500

Over three years ours is not the cheapest line on that table and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What the difference buys is thirty-six months of someone maintaining, fixing and improving the thing instead of nobody at all. If you would genuinely rather pay once and never see us again, say so on the call and we will quote a build-only price.

The monthly, itemised

What the care plan actually covers

Every plan includes all of this. The only things that change between tiers are how much change work you get and how fast we answer.

Paying

How the money works

Two payments for the build, then one flat monthly. Nothing else, ever.

Half the build fee to book

$400 on Spark · due at sign-off

This holds your place in the schedule and covers the blueprint stage. Refundable in full if we have not started work.

The other half on launch day

Due when the site goes live

You see the finished site and approve it before this is due. The site launches, then you pay — not the other way round.

Then the monthly starts

First charge on launch day

Collected by autopay on a QuickBooks invoice — you approve it once and it runs itself after that. No minimum term and no cancellation fee — give us 30 days' notice at any point and it stops.

Or pay the year and save one

Optional

Pay twelve months of care up front and the twelfth is free. On Anvil that is $1,925 instead of $2,100.

Pay a build deposit

Card or bank transfer, handled by QuickBooks. Card details never touch our site. Pick your tier and pay the 50% deposit to book your slot.

The balance is invoiced on launch day, and the monthly starts then too — both by email, not from this page.

How the monthly is collected

Not from a button here. On launch day we send your first care-plan invoice through QuickBooks, and it has an autopay option on it.

  • Tick autopay once and enter your card or bank details
  • Every month after that is charged automatically
  • You get an emailed receipt each time
  • Cancel autopay yourself, any time, from any invoice

Bank transfer costs us less than card, so if you are happy to pay by bank we would rather you did — and if you ask, we will knock the difference off your first month.

What changes a quote

The tier prices cover most small businesses as they are. These are the things that move either number, and we flag every one before you commit.

  • Page count beyond what the tier includes
  • Selling online, or taking bookings with deposits
  • Migrating a large amount of existing content
  • Multiple locations, each needing its own page
  • Connecting to software you already run
  • Needing more monthly edit time than the tier gives
  • A deadline that means rearranging the schedule
Before you ask

Money questions, answered

The monthly is the catch, and we have set it in the same size type as the build fee so you can judge the two together. The build fee on its own does not cover our time on a project — the care plan is what makes the arrangement work for us, and it is what puts a properly built site within reach this month instead of next year.

What it is not is a cheap template with a subscription bolted on. The build is the same hand-coded, custom-designed work either way.

The prices above assume the care plan, because that is the arrangement we recommend and the one the build fee is priced against. If you would rather own it outright and handle hosting and maintenance yourself, we will quote a build-only price instead — it is higher up front, and we will tell you plainly what you would be taking on. Ask on the first call.

We would rather quote you honestly than sign you up to something you did not want.

You keep it. The design and the code are yours, and the domain is registered in your name from day one. Give us 30 days' notice and we will export the whole site, hand over every file and login, and help you point it at hosting of your own. No exit fee, and we will not hold your domain hostage.

What stops is the hosting we provide, the maintenance, and the monthly edit time.

No minimum term and no cancellation fee. It runs month to month with 30 days' notice. We would rather keep you because the work is good than because the paperwork says you have to stay.

Your rate is fixed for the first 24 months. After that we may adjust it, and if we do you get 60 days' written notice and can cancel instead. If you later ask us to add a store or a booking system, that may move you to a higher tier — we quote it first and you decide.

Anything that changes the site rather than rebuilds it: new prices, new photos, updated hours, a staff change, swapping the seasonal banner, adding a paragraph, fixing a typo you spotted. We track it in minutes rather than quarter-hour blocks, and we tell you when you are near the limit instead of quietly invoicing you.

A whole new page or a new feature is separate work. We quote it, you approve it.

You see the first direction within a few days of the deposit, and the revision rounds exist for exactly this — on Bespoke, as many as fit inside the build window. If you need longer, your first extension of two weeks is free and we would rather give it to you than have you sign off something you are not happy with. If after the first round you genuinely do not want to continue, we stop, refund the deposit less the hours already spent, and show you honestly what those hours were. The care plan never starts, because nothing ever launched.

Anything that breaks because of how we built it, we fix free for as long as you are on a care plan — not for 90 days, for the whole time you are with us. That is the part of this arrangement we think you should judge us on.

We will not promise a specific jump in sales or search ranking. Nobody can honestly promise that, and anyone who does is selling you something.
