Who we are

This site is operated by LR Forge LLC ("LR Forge", "we", "us"), a limited liability company registered in the State of California and based in Benicia. We build custom websites for small businesses throughout the Bay Area.

We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. For any question about it, or to exercise any of the rights below, contact us:

What we collect

  • What you send us. Your name, business name, email, phone number, current website address and the details of your enquiry, when you fill in the contact form or email us.
  • Project material. Anything you share with us while we build your site — logos, photos, copy, and logins to services we need access to.
  • Basic site statistics. Which pages get visited and roughly where visitors come from. This is aggregated and does not identify you.

We do not collect payment card details on this site. Card and bank payments are handled by QuickBooks Payments (Intuit) on their own systems; we only ever see that an invoice was paid, and the last four digits of the card.

Why we collect it

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote.
  • To carry out work you've hired us to do.
  • To send invoices and keep the records tax law requires us to keep.
  • To understand which parts of this site are useful, and improve the rest.

We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you filled in a contact form.

Who else sees it

Only the services we need to run the business, and only the minimum they need:

  • Our form provider, which delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
  • Our email provider.
  • Intuit QuickBooks, for invoicing and payments.
  • Supabase, which stores client account logins.
  • Our hosting provider.
  • Anyone we're legally required to disclose to.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't become projects are deleted after 12 months. Project records and invoices are kept for seven years, because tax rules require it. Project files are kept for two years after a project ends, so we can help if you come back.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics, it will be a privacy-friendly provider that does not build a profile of you across other websites.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@lrforges.com and we'll action it within 30 days. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under the GDPR or the CCPA — we'll honour those requests too.

Security

Data is sent over an encrypted connection, accounts use two-factor authentication where it's available, and access is limited to the people working on your project. No system is perfectly secure, but we'll tell you promptly if anything affecting you goes wrong.

Changes

If this policy changes we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant and you're an active client, we'll email you about it.
